Custom is the only way to describe this home. We started the design working with the family’s wants and wishes for their new home while keeping in mind their oldest daughter with type 2 SMA was already using many mobility devices to stand and move around while the youngest at the time was just a baby.  The goal was to build a home that fit the park view location, had the design and finishes that fit the homeowners’ creative personality and most importantly had features built in that would make their everyday family life less demanding.  The girls were the focus but the home’s design and the finishes were not to look utilitarian. We worked very closely with the homeowners to achieve the functionality they so very much required without making the barrier free features a focal point.
